Goals: 

• Analyze and critique a range of literature using specific criteria (e.g., use of source material or medium, authenticity of time/place).
• Analyze the impact of the author’s choices regarding how to develop and relate elements of a story or drama (e.g., where a story is set, how the action is ordered, how the characters are introduced and developed).

Announcements: 

• Senior Portfolio Page for November due on Friday
• Finish reading, have notes and be prepared to discuss The Metamorphosis by Monday, December 3rd 

1.Business: 

• Taking notes as you read--sticky notes, notebooks, etc. 
• Errant poetry presentations (2nd Block)

Key Questions of the Day: 

• How does our ability (or inability) to communicate affect us? 
• How do we define ourselves? 
• What key things make us human?

3. Step One: Watch/Read the three texts and fill out the comparison chart. 

• Text One:  My College Transition 
• Text Two: Excerpt from The Metamorphosis 
• Text Three:  "The Question We Must Keep Asking Ourselves"
  
• Text Four:  "How Loneliness is Tearing America Apart"
  

4. Step Two:  Discuss the key questions!
