Goals: 
  • I can use acting techniques to make connections to the play and comprehend Act 2.1

Announcements:  
  • Retaking language quiz.  Two options: 
    • ​Write a paragraph using and labeling all the grammar constructions to make up 4 points on the quiz. 
    • Retake the whole quiz before, after school, at lunch.  
  • ​Skyline Book Club Tuesday, April 16th
    • ​EL--American Street
    • LL--A Wide Expanse of Sea

1. Moors & Turks (Women's Role tomorrow)

2. Acting 2.1.1--181
Read once or twice, discussing, then: 
  • What is going on here? 
  • Are all the people in the scene the same? What is different about some or all? 
  • Do these people know each other well? How do you know? 

On your feet: 

  • Where does this scene take place? 
  • Entrances and Exits?  From where to where?  Does the text give us a clue? 
  • ​Who is the most important person in this scene?  Who THINKS he is the most important in this scene? How should the actors convey this? 


3. Focusing in on lines 182--233
  • What is each characters' super objective (their overarching goal).  
    • What is their objective in this scene? Or do they have multiple objectives.  
Role play
  • ​Sitting 
  • On your feet in modern language (what objectives were you showing us?)
  • Original language with Emilia on your feet

​4. Spotlight line: 
  • Paraphrase Iago's aside 2..1.182
  • Read lines 218-220 with different intonations.  How do the different intonations impact the meaning?  Which one connects with your understanding of the the meaning of the lines? 
    • Vote and write your justification. Turn in to Ms. Feliks
