    • What is their objective in this scene? Or do they have multiple objectives.

  • Original language with Emilia on your feet. Try to show through your body language the objective of your character.

    • How does Iago convince R. that Cassio is in love with Desdemona?
  • 2.1.308--34
    • Two readers, alternating sentences
    • What does Iago mean when he says, "Now I do love her too?"
    • Do you believe Iago when he says, "I fear Cassio with my nightcap too."
    • Compare Iago's soliloquy here with the one at the end of 1.3.  Has his motive changed?
    • Coleridge referred to Iago's "motiveless malignity."  Do you agree that his malignity is fundamentally without motive?

5. In Writer's Notebook:  The Q3 on the AP exam asks about the "overall meaning of the work."  So far, what reoccurring themes or ideas are you seeing here?  Do you have any ideas about the what Shakespeare is saying about that ideas?
