  • Write the number of the piece and your name on the feedback form and write thoughtful, specific feedback (PRAISE) for the piece.  
  • Turn in your feedback stapled feedback forms.  You will be graded on your feedback:

  • Everybody share Docs with all group members. 
  • Take turns reading your piece aloud. 
  • After author reads, each group member: 
    • Praise:
      • ​Name the best, most vivid imagery
      • Use of another specific technique that really works. 
      • A line or detail that you could connect/relate to. 
    • Suggest/Question
      • One specific place that the piece could use more detail. 
      • One question you have about the piece
      • One word that could be replaced for a more powerful word. 
    • Give time for the author to write down the groups' feedback before they move on to the next author.

2. Writer's Notebook #4: "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening"--Robert Frost 
  • What do you notice?  Mark down at least 5 different things (lines, phrases, techniques) that you notice. 
    •  How would you describe the mood in the poem? Why?
    • What promises do you think that the speaker might have to keep? Why might the speaker repeat the final line? 
  • ​Reread the poem and pay close attention to the rhyme scheme. Write an emulation of this poem where you mimic the rhyme scheme.
  • Or, rewrite the poem in a different season. 
  • Or, describe a place in a way that conveys an emotion or mood. 

3. Notes: Imagery, Metaphor, Simile 
  • Imagery: Using description from the 5 senses to create a picture in the reader's mind. 
  • Simile:  Comparing two things using like/as
  • Metaphor:  Comparing two things without a word of comparison. 
  • Activity:  With your group, describe the location that I gave you WITHOUT saying the location, but WITH imagery.  Bonus for including simile & metaphor.

      • Revise by creating imagery.

  • Step 5: Submit the URL to your Blog on Google Classroom.
