Goals:
  • I can say at least 5 of my classmates' names.
  • I can explain what I notice in how a poem is written and develop some logical theories for WHY it is written that way.
  • I can "Use precise words and phrases, telling details, and sensory language to convey a vivid picture of the experiences, events, setting, and/or characters"

Announcements:
  • Friday:  Blog Post #1 Due.

1.  Group List Poem
  • As a group, select one of the emotions.
    • Review the things that your classmates wrote.  Separate the ones you like to one side, and add things to the list that fit the themes or ideas that you see emerging.
    • Add some new ideas to the list.
    • As a group, write your own list poem
      • Decide on a plan, a rationale for the organization of the poem.
      • Work hard to choose just the right words because the poem is composed of so few words.
      • Work together to produce a final draft and present it to the class.

3. Writer's Notebook #2 (continued)
  • Selecting a different emotion (or idea) create your own list poem

2. Library
  • In the back of your Writer's Notebook, please have a page or pages for your "Read" list and your "To-Read" list.
