Goals: 
  • I can analyze the nuances of word/phrase meanings used in different contexts.
  • Student flexibly uses strategies to derive meaning from a variety of print/non-print texts. Student evaluates the validity, reliability, and/or relevance of publications and authors as well as their evidence and reasoning.  

Announcements:
  • Read your choice book to your reading goal by next Monday. ​
  • Homework:  Make a video book talk.  Due to Google Classroom on Friday. ​
  • Friday:  Revised essay due to Google Classroom.

Use feedback to revise essays.

  • What a Works Cited Page Looks Like
  • How to cite sources. 


In the Writing Center/Writing Groups
  • We review as a group--everyone either reads everyone else's essay or author reads out-loud as group follows along. 
  • Start with what is strong
  • Give suggestions/ask questions
