Goals: 

• I can write THAMO (conjunctive adverb) sentences. 
• I can flexibly uses strategies to derive meaning from a variety of print/non-print texts. Student evaluates the validity, reliability, and/or relevance of publications and authors as well as their evidence and reasoning.

• Article of the Week due Friday
• Blog #5 due on Friday:  Write a two paragraph summary of the research you found on your stunt journalism topic.  Hyperlink to the original sources. 
• Mastery reading reflection due on Friday.

2. THAMO practice:  sentence combining! 

• Write a simple sentence about the beach.  
• Find someone else in the room with whom you can combine your sentences with a THAMO.  Write new sentence on the board. 

3. Writer's Notebook #10

  • What are some reasons Bugsy Sailor decided to do this? (some he says, some you can guess)
  • What do you think about any of his photographs?
  • How do you think Bugsy Sailor changed after this experience?
