Goals:
  • I can say all of my classmates' names.
  • I can explain what I notice about how a poem is written and develop some logical theories for WHY it is written that way.
  • I can collaborate with a group to create a list poem.

Announcements:
  • We will get books on Monday. If you have a book from home that you are reading, please bring it then.

1. Find Your Match:
  • Write two or three statements on a card, such as an interest, goal or dream vacation.
  • I will mix up the cards, and the goal is to find the person who matches your new card.

2. List Poems
  • Revise with this checklist and create a final draft.
  • Present to the class
    • Feedback--one writing move we noticed or a line that we liked.

3. Writer's Notebook #3:  My Honest Poem
  • Watch the poem
  • Reread it in your Writer's Notebook and mark two moves you notice the writer making.
  • Write your own "honest" poem in your Writer's Notebook.  You can use the template, or deviate from the structure.
