  • Pick a mentor text to skim through during reading time.  In your Writer's Notebook, I would like you to note down:
    • ​What you notice about how it is organized. 
    • What you notice about the hook. How do they get the audience's attention? 

3. Discuss mentor texts 
  • What are some "hooks" techniques we have seen? 
  • What elements does a great stunt journalism article need to have? 
    • Create anchor chart
  • For Writer's Notebook #12, try out one of these techniques as a hook for your stunt article. 

4. Writer's Notebook #13:  Unwritten Rules 
  • Do you recognize the type of writing from today and yesterday? 
  • What are some other places that have "unwritten" rules? Class Brainstorm.   
  • Write you own list.
