Student develops a position supported with coherent claims, counterclaims, evidence, and analysis of evidence. Student selects evidence, etc. based on knowledge of audience.

Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research.

2. Literary Analysis--in the Reading Section of your Writer's Notebook:

Who is the audience for your book? What does the author do to specifically appeal to that audience? Think about the plot, writing choices like sentence structure, vocabulary, perspective.

3. Writer's Notebook--My Jump Shot

Read Around
What is this poem about? Is there an argument in this poem? How is the author making the argument.
Write next to this poem.

4. Grammar--Sort sentences into comma-splice, run-on, fragments or correct sentences. Fix all the sentence errors.
