Goals: 

• I can explain what I notice about how a poem is written and develop some logical theories for WHY it is written that way. 
• I can identify correct and incorrect sentences and name and correct sentence errors. ​

Announcements: 

• Read your book everyday this week for at least 15 minutes. 
• We will take a quiz on Friday over correct sentences and sentence errors. 
• We will turn in a final draft of a poem tomorrow to Google Classroom.

3. Writer's Notebook #5: "Dear Basketball"-Kobe Bryant

• What do you notice about the techniques that Bryant uses in his poem? 
• Write your own Dear_____ poem. 

4. What techniques have we noticed in the poems that we have studied that that help make a poem interesting? 

• Create an anchor chart 
• Look back at the poems in your Writer's Notebook.  Is there an idea (or ideas) here you could revise for a final draft poem?​
